Philips HeartStart OnSite Infant/Child SMART Pads Cartridge should be stored with an AED and only installed to respond to a child or infant patient.
These Philips HeartStart OnSite Infant/Child SMART Pads Cartridge are for use on persons less than 8 years of age and or less than 55 lbs. Philips AED pads must be replaced after use or once every 2 years regardless of use. An expiration date is marked on the front of the pads cartridge. These pads instruct the defibrillator to reduce the energy of its shock from 50 to 150 Joules (J), a more appropriate dosage. The Infant/Child Pads cartridge is marked with an indication of patient weight and with a teddy bear icon for easy identification.
